Lough Carra 13th May 2009

Spent Wednesday on Carra, went out from Brownstown, very few Mayfly about spotted a few hatching in the very shallow water..the fish appeared to be feeding on olives and fished wets most of the day with my fishing partner who hooked most of the fish it has to be said..he kept one af about 1.25lb which was the best of the day taken on a dry wuff...conditions were cool enough and I was a little dissapointed on the lack of flylife and fish...

Lough Corrib 29/30th April 09

A long last the lake has begun to fish,.. out yesterday Wed for a few hours with fairly good conditions for most of the day left the lake at 6pm had a couple of fish lost a couple more, better fishing than of late fish moving to olives and hatching buzzer fished wets most of the day and got a few fish as said..tried dries but not for long enough probaly the rain showers brougt on hatches and the fish were on top looking..

Carrowmore Lake 15th/16th April

Spent a day and half on Carrowmore Wednesday and Thursday this week..The Easterly wind didn't suit but fish were caught..Hit a fish on Thursday, touched him had a good look at the Fecker, about 8lb or so but he didn't stay on..Very Bright day on Thursday with east wind, heard of 1 fish caught a good few boats out on each day..Owenmore river is low bit early yet for the river anyway...

Lough Coirrib 14th April 2008

Fished with a few others from Oghterard area of the lake, mainly the western shoreline and the fishing was terrible 12 anglers,2 fish weighed in..The fishing is very bad..Its a struggle to get fish,and I be giving it a rest until things improve very little fly life..duckfly over there is no sign of olives yet and with the easterly winds till sunday its a dead loss!!

Fished the lake again yesterday from Salthouse...Conditions preety good for wet fly early in the day..I was very dissapointed with the fishing thou..I was fishing a competition there was only 12 lads fishing it and at 4.30 pm still nobody had any fish which was very fustrating as there was fly about...the wind dropped and we spotted a few fish taking emergers near Inismacateer..got one about 1.5lb and tried to cover a few more no result there..I thought the fishing was quite slow considering the… Continue
