sat 9th august.
Had the day of work so went to the owenglen for a couple of hours. There was a nice flood in the river .I fished the ivy pool which is the first fishable pool on the river. The tide was high so there was good chance of some fresh fish. I tied on a size 10 allys shrimp. My 3rd or 4th cast downstream and as the line swung round in the curent, i seen a splash at the end of my leader. I struck it to a solid thump , and then it all went slack. I then tied on a stoats tail and caught a bag of trout.
